Invited by Gyu (Archangel Michael),
I had left New York and traveled alone to Los Angeles.
The first day ended quietly.
I arrived at night, felt lonely, and fell asleep at the hotel.
Morning of Day 2
When I woke up, the first thing I wanted to know was what it looked like outside.
I stepped out onto the patio.
The ocean—
so close.

Straight ahead from my room, something like a small island floated offshore.
I could see countless seals lying there.
Oh—
that’s why I heard seal cries all night.

As I watched them, thinking how much my kids would love this,
a voice came into my head:
“For now, just get ready to go.”
Gyu—
you’re back.
phew.
Then suddenly—
“That’s right! Hurry up and get ready~♪
Today is an important day ❤️”
Someone else started talking.
I couldn’t see anything at all.
No image.
And somehow…
the voice felt masculine,
but the way it spoke was flamboyantly feminine.
The unseen world is… incomprehensible.
Gyu cut in, as usual.
“Stop dawdling. Get ready. Take a shower.
Today will be busy.”
That familiar, nagging tone actually made me feel relieved.
Still, as I got dressed, tension slowly crept in.
Why did I have to come all the way to LA?
This is bad—I’m getting nervous.
I hope nothing scary happens…
Then—
“There’s a bomb planted in this hotel.
Run. Now.”
Gyu’s voice.
What?!
No way!!
A bomb?!?!
What am I supposed to do?!
If that’s true, can I really just run by myself?!
Shouldn’t I warn everyone?!
Who would even believe me?!
Panic.
Then—
That other voice:
“Kidding~!”
…
Oh.
Seriously?
I was genuinely furious.
What is wrong with you?!
“See? You relaxed, didn’t you~?”
…Oh.
It was true.
Getting angry had released the tension.
But who is this being?
Not a person—an energy, maybe?
Male, but speaking like that…
It’s inconvenient not having a name.
I’ll just call you “Lucy.”
With all of this chatter going on in my head,
I finished getting ready.
What I brought with me:
keys, wallet, phone,
the blue horse plush,
and a giant bag of popcorn.
Everything went into a brown paper bag.
Alright—let’s go.
I started driving down the bright, blue-sky California roads.
That morning, Gyu first guided me to a café near the hotel to grab a drink.
Then he told me the next destination:
“Santa Monica.”
Once I knew where I was going, I could finally use regular navigation instead of the stomach-gyu navigation.
That helped a lot.
Unfamiliar roads, an unfamiliar car—
my hands were already sweaty with nerves.
Relying only on Gyu’s guidance right away would have been impossible for me.
Using the car’s navigation also made it easier to chat casually with Gyu while driving.
Meanwhile, Lucy kept talking nonstop.
“You really did well making it this far—I’ll praise you for that~”
“Today is important. Prepare yourself properly.”
But all I could think was:
Who are you, exactly?
Arrival in Santa Monica
The moment we arrived, Lucy suddenly went quiet.
I parked where Gyu indicated and started walking, following the familiar gyu sensation in my stomach.
I passed under this ↓

And headed toward the beach.
What’s going to happen here?
My heart was pounding.
My stomach was clenched tight—
gyuuuu—the whole time.

I was led all the way to the beach.
“Here”
Gyu said.
I stopped.
And sat down.

…Now what?
A middle-aged woman, alone on the beach,
sitting there with a big paper bag,
looking around restlessly.
Is something supposed to happen like this?
I slowly turned my head, taking in the view.
The ocean.
People.
The city.
Mountains…
The moment I looked at the mountains,
the gyu sensation intensified sharply.
That way.

That mountain.
When I look at that mountain,
the sensation becomes almost painful.

I immediately pulled out my phone and checked the map.
A state park.
Huge.
You can enter it.
You can enter it!!
That’s the destination?!
I was getting excited.
I see—
you can’t see that mountain from anywhere else.
You have to come all the way to this beach to see it.
You can’t see it from around the hotel.
That’s why you wanted me to come straight here from the airport yesterday.
Sorry I didn’t trust you.
“That outcome was already accounted for,“
Gyu said.
Now that I knew the destination,
the beach had served its purpose.
There were lots of souvenir shops along the boardwalk,
so I bought some gifts for my kids.
Then I headed back toward the parking area—
When, unusually,
Gyu guided me into a stylish restaurant.
I ended up having a very fancy lunch.

I was starting to understand something:
Gyu only lets me eat something delicious
after I’ve done what was required.
A reward system.
Full.
Fully prepared.
Now—
toward that mountain.
To be continued.
