✦ Article 9 — The True Identity of “Saeki-no-Jiisan”

I still knew nothing about “Taro.”
Gyu (Archangel Michael) wasn’t speaking either.
April was coming to an end, and everything felt unresolved.

One afternoon, after running errands alone,
I passed by a famous cathedral in Manhattan.
I’d walked past it many times,
but I’d never gone inside.

The doors were open.

I was about to keep walking when—
Gyu. A sharp tightening in my stomach.

…Alright.
I still had a little time.

I stepped inside.

And instantly—

WHAT!?
The interior was breathtaking.

The details, the carvings, the atmosphere—
I was completely absorbed,
forgetting that Gyu had dragged me in here in the first place.

Along the walls were several alcoves,
each with its own statue.

Then, at one of them—

A violent GYUU.
So strong it almost hurt.

I froze and looked closely.

And suddenly I knew.

Not logically—
but with that strange, unmistakable feeling I get during guidance.

“Saeki-no-Jiisan.”

The presence, the energy—
it felt exactly like him.

What was he doing here?
Ah… maybe this was his real identity all along.

I was so excited I couldn’t keep still.
A random Asian woman leaning over a railing,
softly talking to a statue.
Thankfully, no one else was standing in that alcove.

He didn’t speak—
at least not this stone version of him—
but the Gyu stayed tight and steady.

Before leaving, I looked at the nameplate.

St. Andrew.

But to me,
regardless of form or name,

he will always be “Saeki-no-Jiisan.”

It felt like he brought me to that cathedral
just to quietly show me who he really is.
